Getting exposure for your blog is crucial for both community growth and monetization opportunities.
However, gaining visibility for your blog is probably the biggest question you’ll have as a blogger whether you’re first starting off (or maybe even years after they start…).
Just like with anything, you can accomplish getting huge amounts of traffic and community growth with a lil’ bit of elbow grease.

One strategy that I’ve seen but never really utilized is link parties.
Link parties are when a blogger or group of bloggers set a designated time and page on their site for other bloggers to come and “link up” their blog post to the hostess’s website.
Getting the chance to post your blog post on someone else’s site is an amazing opportunity because you are getting free traffic.
However, you are supposed to participate in the party by going to other linked blog posts and commenting.
This way, everyone is winning! Plus, you could just meet your next BBF (best blogging friend).

I have never used link parties and I am not sure how they work. I would see them from time to time, try to figure out what is going on but give up. I was on a couple of link parties that was a little confusing. Any tips for best practices?

April 29, 2017 at 3:50 pm (8 years ago)Hi Katina! Thanks for stopping by. Yes, I agree, they can be confusing! Go to the bottom of the page. There is usually some rules and a place for you to link your blog post. Sometimes they use an app called Inlinkz or something similar, and you have to make an account to be able to link up your blog post. Once you link your blog post, it’ll show up on that person’s blog page. Then you go and follow, comment, and share other blog posts on the page. Usually people vote on their fav blog post in the link up and sometimes the host of the link party will highlight that blog post which usually drives more traffic (shares, comments, follows, etc) to that blog post. If you scroll to the bottom of the page and there is no way to link up your blog post, the party has probably expired already. Hope that helps!

Link party opens Mondays at 9am EST weekly and closes Friday at Midnight. Each week one post is chosen to be the featured post for the next week’s link party. All posts are shared across social media as well as on my Facebook group page #All for Mamas. There is a brief break, but the next link party will begin 7/3/17 you can join the grouo page anytime.
