Are you lacking in creative content for your blog? Grab these tips that will get your audience to absolutely love your content!

Note: Some links in this post contain affiliate links, which means I may receive a commission if you make a purchase. That’s actually one of the ways you make money blogging! Thanks for supporting my blogging dreams! 🙂

I first started blogging in 2013, and my very first blog (balancedlady.blogspot.com) is still live and still very embarrassing! LOL Since then I’ve launched 6 websites!! With that being said, this is actually the very first blog that has gotten any type of real traffic, interaction, etc.

But it was because of the failures of my first websites that I learned a bit about what people want to read and what they don’t want to read.

First realize that you are a part of your audience.

More than likely you’re blogging about something that you are passionate about and I’m sure you read other blogs that are similar to yours. Does your blog reflect similar vibes to some of the more popular blogs in your niche? Is your blog cluttered and distracting? Answering these questions are going to help you understand what your audience is looking for in terms of an attractive blog.

A huge part of people enjoying your content is the look of your site. And no your site doesn’t have to be pretty or super attractive, it just has to be uncluttered with a light background. That means no black or animated backgrounds. Don’t have too many ads popping up all over the place. You have to make your blog an attractive and relaxing place to read.

Once you’ve accomplished this, you’re on your way to creating amazing content!

Create Super Content

Create Content That is Valuable to Your Audience

What is your audience’s number 1 problem? Don’t know? Ask them! Once you find out you have to create content around creating solutions for them. Your content cannot just be fluff stuff;it has to be substantive. Go into detail on how to do stuff step-by-step. Examples of super content is:

  • Long 1800+ word tutorials with pictures
  • Videos
  • Podcasts
  • Super informative pictographs
  • Content with checklists, swipe files, or PDFs (freebie ideas!)

Create Solutions for Your Audience in Creative Ways

As an entrepreneur, you have to stay competitive. This means innovating and coming up with creative solutions and presenting those solutions in creative ways. It’s not enough anymore just to write on your blog and post ebooks. Now you have to be savvy with video, podcasting, and webinars just to stay competitive. Your audience’s attention span is shrinking, so you have to definitely get creative when you’re creating content. Here are a few creative ways I’ve seen bloggers present information:

  • Mastermind sites
  • Live mastermind calls between experts on Blab
  • Periscope calls
  • Discovery sessions
  • Group challenges

Keep Up With Blogging Trends

You definitely have to make sure that you are staying on top of blogging trends like Periscope and group challenges. Even if you cannot think of unique ways in which to share your information, at least stay on top of trends and continue to implement new techniques into your blogging business.

It can be super overwhelming to try and learn all of these new technologies. I would suggest focusing on just 2-3 technologies at a time and also focus on technologies that are best for your business. Like for example, if you’re a blogging coach, discovery calls and mastermind sites would work really well for your business goals. If you’re a food blogger, focusing on Pinterest strategies and tools like Tailwind are going to be more beneficial for your blog than discovery calls.

Last but certainly not least, here are a few tips that will help to boost your content:

  • Make your content scannable with headings and small paragraphs of 1-3 sentences
  • Make your content meaty! The more informative the post the better!
  • Make sure you have a way for your audience to comment and share your post on social media
  • Put at least one large attractive picture at the top of your post.
  • Make it easy to understand. I hate to say it but people want to read stuff that middle graders can understand. Use the Flesch Reading Ease score to make sure your blog posts have a score between 60-70. You can use the Yoast SEO plugin to gauge the complexity of your blog posts.
  • Have a call to action in every blog post (ask them to download a resource related to your blog–a really great for building your email list!)

What have been some of your most successful content? I want to see them! Post a link to your most popular content in the comments below!
