Learning How To Blog Everyday Can Be Super Hard 🙁

Do you badly need to create content for your blog?

Is it difficult for you to carve out time to write your blog posts?

Do you get so overwhelmed with the prospect of writing that you end up not doing anything at all?

I totally understand…been there done that! I recently had to start my blog over from scratch and I badly need new and fresh content for my blog!

Here are some really good tips that has helped me to learn how to blog everyday.

  1. Have Someone Else Hold You Accountable

I’m going to be honest, if me doing something comes down to just me holding myself accountable versus someone else, it’s probably not going to happen. I’m working hard on “self” discipline but as of right now I kinda depend on other who are going to hold me accountable to get my ish done.

Some ways you can get others to hold you accountable is to start a Facebook group. In my Facebook Group, Blog Promo Community, when someone tells me they have an issue it makes me want to help them by creating a resource to show them how. If I tell someone I’m going to write about a particular topic, I really have to do it because I know that person is expecting me to!

You can also start a challenge in your Facebook group or in another Facebook group where you plan to blog twice a week for a month. When its time to check in and you’re the only one who hasn’t done what they said they were going to do, you’ll feel kinda bad and in turn you’ll write your articles for the next week. I know it’s a form of social shaming but it works! LOL

    2. Start Off Slow

Whenever you’re trying to start a new habit you can’t go from 1 to 100 or else you’ll fail. If you are the type of person who start a habit this way and succeed then you’re probably not reading this article (LOL). Instead take baby steps–commit to one article per week at first, and then after a month or two go to two articles per week and so on. Slowly building the writing habit or any habit in my opinion is the best way to go.

   3. Always Plan Ahead

If you really want to set your self up for success, plan, plan, plan! Plan out your blog posts for a week or a month and then put them in place that you have to look at everyday. Put them on your wall, computer screen, front of your planner, etc. If you’re anything like me you’re scatter brained and you try to do a million things at once. Having your editorial calendar/list of blog titles in your face on a daily basis will help bring the task of writing them to the forefront of your brain.

Also, set aside some time for blogging everyday. Put it in your email calendar and set a reminder on your phone with times you plan on writing your blog posts.

  4. Lower the Barriers of Resistance

When we have to go through a lot of hoops to do something we don’t even want to do in the first place, we’re more likely not to do it. Like for example, me waking up early in the morning to work out, not finding workout clothes immediately, and immediately going back to bed.

If I had laid out my clothes the night before, I would have been more likely to workout. Well the same goes for when you’re trying to learn how to blog everyday. You have to lower those resistance levels by scheduling your blog posts in advance, doing a short blurb of what you want your blog post to be about, setting aside time to write your blog post, and writing your blog post on anything you have handy.

As soon as an amazing-I-can’t-wait-to-share-with-the-world-blog-post pops into your head, write it down on the back of a bill or on a piece of scrap paper. If you ride the subway everyday like I do, type your blog on your laptop while you’re riding to work. I wrote this article on my iPhone today!

If you know as soon as you get home that blog post is not to to happen, bring your laptop to work and go directly to the library or to a Starbucks after work. After all, you know yourself better than anyone, what you’re going to do and what you’re not going to do in advance so set your environment up for success.

  5. Just Do It!

If you really want to learn how to blog everyday just do it already! If you’re sitting there agonizing over how you don’t feel like writing a blog post, just get up and do it for 5 minutes–just 5. If you still don’t feel like writing after 5 minutes, stop. At least you got started! However, I guarantee that once you get started, more than likely you’ll finish that blog post.

I write all my posts as drafts whenever I get a chance, and then make them public the day they’re scheduled for posting. Right now I only post three days a week. Should I stick to posting those same three days every week? Or can I be more spontaneous with it? Thanks!

That’s actually really good! You should definitely has some consistency just so readers can know when to expect new content. So if you’re posting on the same three days a week and then you just spontaneously post on a fourth day, that’s fine but if you went from posting regularly on three specific days to posting on two random days one week and four random days the next, you might lose some visitors. I actually need to get this blog on a schedule because right now I’m just blogging on random days–not good 🙁

I really like the idea of writing down fragments of blog posts/articles as they come. Creativity comes in spurts for me, and I never know when it will strike.

Great tips! Thanks so much. I always have trouble staying concentrated and being able to sit long enough to actually write an entire blog post.

Great tips. I’m currently blogging on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Since I actually blog on three different topics (home décor, organization, and small business planning), I’m going to try to blog three times a week. I’m thinking about Mon, Wed, Fri or Tues, Wed, Thur… Anywho, that’s my goal for 2016. I’m going to use yours tips… and join your challenge…

I read a loooot of posts about how to help blogging everyday or whatever, but this one I actually like a lot! Cause it’s simple, understandable and I can totally relate with everything you wrote. I’ve been struggling a lot, cause I’m missing time, energy and for most inspiration. When I’m inspired I write it down in few hours, but when I’m not it’s like empty mind 🙁 Joining the Blog Challenge, I feel this one actually might help. Thank you .

Holding yourself accoutnable is huge. I find that when I have a sponsored post or one that’s awesome that I think people will eat up, I have more motivation to get it out. My biggest hurdle now due to the various steps involved every time I hit publish (i.s. writing, scheduling social media, creating compelling graphics, commenting, promoting, reading up on way how to grow my blog, keeping track of my blog expenses and income, etc.) that I tend to get lost and end up doing a little of this and that without really feeling organized. I want to fix that and grow my traffic and income from my blog. Those are my 2016 goals!

I’m the same way! I’m going to incorporate a morning routine and write down what I need to do for the day so that I can manage the distractions! Everything is so exciting and needs to be done right away that it can be hard to actually focus on creating content.
